1950’s BSA Safety Shopping Model R9

Lovely Classic Ladies Shopper specially designed and produced In the 1940s and 1950s by BSA for the convenience of shopping with a very practical, easy to ride bike, and very low maintenance. This example is showing cosmetic signs of age in its paintwork which could do with some t.l.c., but has been recently serviced. It also has a small rip in the saddle covering.
21 inch low, wide loop frame, allowing for easy mounting/dismounting.
Suitable for heights from 5' 2” upwards.
Rod pull brakes, new brake blocks
24 in x 1 3/8 in wheels, good tyres. Bicycle pump included.
Single gear.
Full length mudguards and hockey stick chain guard.
Miller dynamo c/w front and rear lights (in full working order).
Recently serviced.
This is a collectors' piece as well as a great bike to use and get about town with.
